What Are you Doing With your Steel

April 14, 2010

While you might already have plenty of ideas for your steel building construction plan, if you’re new to the steel building idea, you might be at a loss for how it might be able to help you. The truth is that steel buildings are cost-effective, durable, and practical ways to create a space that helps your life. Everyone could use another space in their life, couldn’t you?

Most people will associate steel construction with commercial purposes, and to a certain extent, this is true. Many commercial steel buildings exist and are in use today. They offer a clean, secure space that allows products to be stored or made. Steel buildings can also be used for storefronts, mini storage, hangars, churches, schools and other larger buildings. For those who want to have a professional looking commercial building, you can also create institutional office buildings from the steel building kits allowing for the building of multiple offices and rooms.

However, what’s interesting about steel building is that many people forget that they are also great ways to add extra space to your home. Here are some ways that you might want to add steel to your life:

Ranch storage
Horse barn
Lawn equipment storage
Outside art studio
Mini storage shed
Riding area for horses
Separate home office or business storage

When you start to think about it, steel buildings can be a great way to also add to your preexisting home as well. Instead of using wood, you can attach on that extra bedroom or den onto your home with steel building kits.

Those families with noisier hobbies music, woodworking, sculpting, etc can find that the use of steel storage units or sheds allows everyone to enjoy only peace and quiet when they want to. The ‘noisy’ room can be situated far from the home as well as the neighbors.

Or you might want to consider building your next home out of steel. While wood is still a major part of the residential construction business, steel is more cost effective and easier to build, allowing you to have a new home in a shorter amount of time. In fact, there are even pre engineered steel buildings that can be put together by hand, as opposed to having a team of professionals come out.

Steel homes are:

More durable
Resistant to weather damage
Resistant to termite damage
More environmentally conscious
Recyclable

In the end, steel buildings aren’t just for commercials warehouses; they can fit your home life as well. Attractive designs are available from a number of steel building suppliers and contractors, including colors for every taste and decorating theme.

The question becomes not what can’t you do with steel, but what can you do. This strong and durable material is starting to reshape the world, one building at a time. And with all of the benefits of steel building construction, it’s easy to see why.

What do you put in your steel cut oats (and what is best brand)?
What is the best brand of slow cooking steel cut oats (from a health perspective)???

What should I put in the oats to add zest? I usually slow cook them (30 min) with lite vanilla soymilk and water. I have fresh blueberries and peaches. When, during the cooking process, should I add them?

1 tablespoon butter
1 cup steel cut oats
3 cups boiling water
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon low-fat buttermilk
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

In a large saucepot, melt the butter and add the oats. Stir for 2 minutes to toast. Add the boiling water and reduce heat to a simmer. Keep at a low simmer for 25 minutes, without stirring.
Combine the milk and half of the buttermilk with the oatmeal. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Spoon into a serving bowl and top with remaining buttermilk, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

I like NOW brand
