Where can I find a good horse for sale?

July 14, 2009

I’ve tried all the good websites: dreamhorse, equine, horseville, ect.
Where should I look now? I am on a budget of 2000 and I want a good beginner horse that will jump.
To Mikey P. -That site is disgusting!!!!! EVERYONE -DONT GO ON IT MY VIRIS SCAN CAUGHT A VIRUS ON IT

Froggy,
Search through the local papers, feed store, local barns, or market bulletin. This should give you a decent horse base that is in your local area. If you are a beginner take some lessons and get your teacher to help in the search. They should be in tune with the market and what kind of animal you need.

hmm. try http://agdirect.com or http://www.equinehits.com
Maybe talk to some of the trainers in your area, let them know, they may know of horses or be able to look for you. check out some shows too.

type in the search engine "horse rescue" and find a horse rescue sanctuary close to you. They will have horses that need good homes after maybe being abused or neglected. You will get a very good horse for a bargain and be saving a horse at the same time.

If there are any horse sales/auctions i would suggest going you can get a good horse pretty cheap. I got a horse in an auction and he’s my best horse. I bought him for $2,150

horsetopia.com is another site you can try. Also there usually are horse auctions. If you are an experienced horse person and know what to look for such as injuries etc. If your not I wouldn’t suggest it. A lot of people drug their horses before they put them through the ring and when you get them home you might have a lot of problems.
