I need a list of horse supplies for a horse that I will be boarding at the riding stable I go to for lessons. Once she is there I will be using her for my lessons.
Hey :]
I think this is pretty much what you’ll need. I’ve been taking riding lessons since I was nine, and we used pretty much all of this stuff. Hope it helps…
Hoof pick w/ bristles
Curry comb
Dandy brush (stiff)
Face brush (soft)
Mane and tail comb
Shampoo and conditioner
Fly spray
Feed bucket
Water bucket
Halters
Lead ropes
Lunge line
Metal trash bin to put feed in
Feed scoop
Stall fork
First Aide Kit (Band aides, Sanitizer, Wrap, Cotton Swabs, Latex Gloves, Bandage Scissors.)
Emergency contact list (vet’s numbers, trainer’s numbers, all taped to the inside of the lid, and programed into the barn or cell phone)
You may also want to pick up some good books on horse care and first aid.
Best of Luck! <3

for the tack only say the saddle i know what gos into the saddle.
just list 1 to however many.
THANKS
You’ll want all the tack and grooming supplies (have at least 2 halters and 2 lead ropes for if one breaks) but you’ll also want a full first aid kit for both horses and humans. A thermometer is a must, vet wrap, guaze, surgical scissors, hoof pick, iodine, bag balm, corona ointment, fly spray, sponge, Epsom salt, nolvasan, saline or eye wash, big syringes without needles, non stick guaze pads or medical pads, flashlight, icthammol, etc. That’s what I can think of off the top of my head. Then just buy a human first aid kit.
I’ve had horses at my family’s ranch so all that stuff was already there but I just got a horse up at college a couple months ago that I’m boarding so I just had to buy all this stuff for my horse.
get all this stuff.

My family and I are considering getting a horse and need to know pricing. What are good things to get supply and snack wise?
A LOT!! Monthly? About 2,000 dollars at least. And horses usually live 30-35 years. That is a lot of money all added up.
Halter
Lead rope
Lunge Line
Saddle
Girth
Bridle
reins
a fence
a barn
hay
grain/oats
apples and carrots* optional
horse treats
Horse shampoo
Horse conditioner
Those are pretty much the basics.
Congrats if you get the horse. It’s a lot of work and money, but it pays off with years off loyal companionship.
