i need to know cause i might get a warmblood.

They need larger equipment, but nothing special in type. A snaffle and normal bridle should be fine. Have fun with your new horse!

I wanted to know if anyone knew of any no fail safe methods to remove rust from a horses bit. I would also be glad of any suggestions of prevention also.

soak in vinegar.

However if you are talking about the rust on the mouth part then they are supposed to rust. Most horses like the taste and it will help them salivate to keep their mouth soft.

i want to buy a bit for my horse but im not sure what kind will be easiest on its mouth, without any pain

All bits are safe, what would hurt the horse is if you don’t have the headstall set properly for the length of the horses head! If the corners of his/her mouth is being pulled up by the bit, then you need to make it longer, if the bit isn’t touching the corners of his/her mouth then u need to make it shorter. It needs to be the right length and your horse will be fine!
Good Luck!

the horse i ride now is very quiet. when doing flat work he is calm and quiet and puts his head down. the first day we jumped i rode his in a snaffle. he was a little to strong and ran away after the jumps. i tried a waterford. it was to strong. he head went up but it didn’t run away as badly. what is a bit that isn’t as soft as a snaffle and as severe as a waterford??? any suggestions!
im 18 and have been riding and showing my whole life. im a very quiet rider.

If he is comfortable with the snaffle keep it with that. If he is irritated or hurting it will just make the problem worse. If he hasnt been jumping long you really should just practice halting before and after the jump to calm him down. To help with that though, try a figure 8 bridle or a flash band. You not only will have contol over the bit but you will also have contol over his head. http://www.eqtack.com/catalog/images/bridle_showcase/figure_8_bridle_large.jpg this is a figure 8

you can also try a Mullen Mouth rubber pelham http://images.auctionants.com/130204.jpg

and this is the bridle with a pelham in it http://usera.imagecave.com/fizz-tally/S7000589.JPG

you have 2 sets of reins but alot more contol. SOme horses love this bit others hate it.

Good luck!
